Notification of a planned event effecting your institution:
WiscNet’s engineering team is planning to visit a few locations along the backbone path from Greenwood to Wausau to perform important network upgrades between
January 17th and 19th, 2018. We’re giving you a special heads-up outside of our typical notification process because this situation is unique. We do our best to work
in the dead of the hot summer nights. A combination of site access restrictions and safety concerns (weather) are forcing this work to happen closer (and in one case, during) typical "work hours."
This upgrade will be service impacting for a period of between 15 and 60 minutes for WiscNet members.
Below is our tentative schedule.
Greenwood, Wisconsin
Replacing EX4200 with QFX5100 and installing Opengear out-of-band.
On-site mid-morning Wednesday, January 17th with cutover at 12:00 noon.
This site is a Packerland Hut and exposed to the elements, therefore daytime work will be required to complete this work.
Contingency date/time for weather is Friday, January 19th, 2018.
Members impacted: Loyal School District, Greenwood School District.
Marshfield, Wisconsin
Replacing EX4200 with QFX5100 and installing Opengear out-of-band.
On-site afternoon Wednesday, January 17th with cutover at 5:00PM.
Members impacted: Marshfield School District, Spencer School District, City of Marshfield, Northcentral Technical College, Auburndale School District.
Stevens Point, Wisconsin
Replacing EX4200 with QFX5100, replacing 2511 with Opengear out-of-band.
On-site morning Thursday, January 18th for prep, return for cutover at 5:00PM.
Members impacted: Portage County, South Central Library System
Wausau, Wisconsin
Replacing EX4200 with QFX5100 and installing Opengear out-of-band.
On-site afternoon Thursday, January 18th with cutover at 5:00PM.
Members impacted: Wausau Community Area Network, Medical College of Wisconsin Healthcare Connect
We are leaving Friday, January 19th open for any contingency needs.
