Update
During the window from 09:00 to 15:00 on Thursday January 16, WisDOT contractors will be performing splice work near Madison, WI in order to establish continuity of some fiber strands as part of "new" DOT optical transport. The work is not expected to be service affecting but runs the usual risk associated with fiber techs sifting through fiber splice trays in a splice case. These splice locations involve our diverse connectivity paths for the Madison campus so attention should be given to any noted fiber outages. To help in reducing the risk, only one splice case will be worked on at a time
The notice above is being re-posted in efforts to better inform the WiscNet membership and should not be taken as authoritative. Please contact the provider of the service directly with any questions. If your provider is BadgerNet, please contact the BadgerNet NOC.
