Identified
A Technician arrived at a test site in Platteville, WI and began preparing to perform light level testing on the affected fiber span. Technicians subsequently transmitted light onto the affected fibers and measured the distance it traveled and those test results were compared to the existing records to determine if a fault was present, as well as the approximate location. The testing data indicated a fiber issue roughly 48 miles from the Platteville test site towards Mazomanie and 20 miles from Mazomanie towards Platteville. A locate crew has been dispatched to the suspected damage area to more precisely locate the issue.
