WiscNet technicians will be applying a router line card BIOS patch on six production line cards. The patch mitigates a software bug that causes the line cards in question to reboot silently. WiscNet has observed this software bug in production but there has not been any member impact to date. Technicians are currently testing the BIOS patch in our lab environment. Impacted members should expect two service interruptions, one lasting approximately 10 minutes and one lasting approximately 5 minutes. Only one backbone router will be worked on at a time. Members that are dual-homed (Connect+1) to diverse backbone routers should see traffic reroute. The routers in question are core routers in Milwaukee and Madison.
